KINGSTON, Jamaica — Supreme Promotion head Isaiah Laing is adding the title of author to his resume.
The former police detective-turned-promoter has penned his debut autobiography entitled ‘Point Blank Range, A Jamaican Bad Man Police — the story of Isaiah Laing’.
Published by US-based company Create Space, the 147-page novel also credits Vernella Fuller as author and Brian Ricketts as illustrator.
Laing made the announcement at last Tuesday’s launch of Sting held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston. The annual Boxing Day Dancehall stage show is celebrating its 30th staging.
According to the promoter, the novel details Laing’s role as a crime fighter.
“The aim of this book is to create awareness not only to Jamaica but the world on a whole. It will give them a feel of lawmen go through on a daily through my experience,” Laing told OBSERVER ONLINE.
“It also has guidelines for police officers as not all of them are aware of some of the rules of the Jamaica Constabulary Force,” he added.
Point Blank Range is currently available on Amazon and will hit the local bookstores on December 17. It will also be available for sale at Sting in Portmore, St Catherine, on Boxing Day.
Laing joined the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in 1976 and was stationed at Admiral Town for 12 years. He then spent two years at Denham Town.
He retired in 1996.
